Hook Sword - Steel
Categorized as a civilian weapon the Hook Sword is a versatile armament. The spine is used like a regular sword, the sharpened hilt is used for stabbing, the crescent guard issued for deflecting and slashing, and the hook is used to trip enemies, catch weapons and of course rending open an enemy. First used in 1771 BC modern routines are often very flashy, and may involve techniques such as linking paired weapons and wielding them as a single long, articulated weapon. Ice Skates (pair) - Steel
According to history the Finns were the first people to develop ice shoes made from animal bones in order to save energy while hunting across frozen lakes. Modern skates are boots with metal blades attached to the underbelly and worn as footwear in many sports including ice hockey and figure skating. Javelin - Steel
The Javelin is the name of a light spear designed primarily for casting as a ranged weapon. Cohorts of throwers were often employed in hit-and-run maneuvers to harass and taunt unprotected battalions, disrupting close formations. Cavalries would often hurl several volleys to soften enemy forces prior to a frontal attack. Skill with a Javelin was so admired it became a regular part of the ancient Olympics. Khopesh - Steel
Khopesh is the Egyptian name of the Canaanite 'sickle-sword'. Its origins can be traced back to third millennium Sumeria where it was most likely developed from its implement cousin; used to harvest grain or cutting grass for hay. Much like axes, spears & hammers; ancient sickles were modified by laborers into makeshift weapons for defense & protection. The Longbow is a fairly tall, D-shaped bow which accomodatesan extra long draw. As such it has been instrumental in many cultures as both a hunting tool and weapon of warfare. In the Middle Ages the English were famous for their very heavy Longbows which were used to great effect against the French. Longbows also became popular amongst mounted Samurai warfare and Native American tribesmen. In the hands of skilled archers, hundreds of thousands of arrows could rain down on an opposing force with severe consequences.
