The Longbow is a fairly tall, D-shaped bow which accomodatesan extra long draw. As such it has been instrumental in many cultures as both a hunting tool and weapon of warfare. In the Middle Ages the English were famous for their very heavy Longbows which were used to great effect against the French. Longbows also became popular amongst mounted Samurai warfare and Native American tribesmen. In the hands of skilled archers, hundreds of thousands of arrows could rain down on an opposing force with severe consequences. Military Shield - Gold
The use of Military Shields spans the course of history and is nearly universal amongst all methods of combat. Considered a handheld protective device, shields are used to protect against armed melee attacks and projectiles. Shield designs vary based on tactics and accompanying weaponry, but modern Military Shields have settled on a handful of basic designs. Used by many police forces and military officers, the rectangular design protects most of the body from relatively large and low velocity projectiles as well as blows from fists and other handheld weapons. Special Forces and SWAT teams use such shields in high risk entry and siege scenarios. Standard grip fits most minifig hands.

Typically used with a shield or buckler, the Military Sword, or arming sword, is the standard weapon given to infantry, militia and footmen. The Military Sword is overall a light, versatile weapon capable of both cut and thrust combat; and normally boasts excellent balance. Ninjato - Gold
The Ninjato is the most common name for the sword that the ninja of feudal Japan are portrayed as having carried. The Ninjato is typically depicted as being a short sword, often portrayed as having a straight blade with a square guard. Suffering from a lack of excavated relics or surviving antiques the description relies on written testimony which contrasts it against the katana as 'shorter and straighter than usual' - most likely for the ease and convenience of stealth operations. Experts speculate the shorter blade made it easier for stabbing, as opposed to slicing. Fits most standard minifig hands.

Pilum - Gold
The Pilum is a heavy javelin commonly used by Roman Legionaries in ancient times. Standard tactics called for a soldier to throw his Pilum at the enemy just before charging to engage with his Gladius. The small point could penetrate a shield and wound the man behind it, or even pierce armor. It has often been said that the Pilum was designed to get stuck in an enemy's shield, forcing him to discard it. Believed to be of alien origin the Power Blade is one of the deadliest melee weapons. Despite its smooth curves and supple edges a properly placed blow can be lethal to almost any living organism. Dual spurs allow the blade to cut through most armor and slice most targets in half. The sword in the hands of a skillful warrior can be fatal unless the enemy is equipped with enough stopping power.
