The Longbow is a fairly tall, D-shaped bow which accomodatesan extra long draw. As such it has been instrumental in many cultures as both a hunting tool and weapon of warfare. In the Middle Ages the English were famous for their very heavy Longbows which were used to great effect against the French. Longbows also became popular amongst mounted Samurai warfare and Native American tribesmen. In the hands of skilled archers, hundreds of thousands of arrows could rain down on an opposing force with severe consequences. Khopesh is the Egyptian name of the Canaanite 'sickle-sword'. Its origins can be traced back to third millennium Sumeria where it was most likely developed from its implement cousin; used to harvest grain or cutting grass for hay. Much like axes, spears & hammers; ancient sickles were modified by laborers into makeshift weapons for defense & protection. The spine of the Khopesh was made heaviest so that its center of gravity could better cleave through armor.......and assailants! Fits most standard minifig hands.
