A Musket is a muzzle-loaded, smooth bore long gun, fired from the shoulder. Muskets were designed for use by infantry, and soldiers armed with such had the designation musketman or musketeer. Replacing the infamous hand-cannon (arquebus), the Musket consisted of a lock, stock and barrel allowing easier wield, transport and improved accuracy.
