Despite stringed instruments being around for thousands of years, bowed instruments are a fairly new invention. It is believed that the talented horse-mounted warriors of Central Asia circa 10th century used their hunting bows to play stringed instruments. Simpler devices/instruments were developed and quickly spread into the Far East, India & Europe via the Silk Road. The Violin in its present form emerged in early 16th century Northern Italy where it became popular both among street musicians and the nobility. A Violin typically consists of: belly, bridge, neck, strings, tuning pegs, scroll and optional chin rest. A Backpack is, in its simplest form, a fabric sack carried on the back; secured with types of straps. Backpacks are often preferred to handbags for hauling larger loads, because of the increased capacity to carry heavy weights for long periods of time. In ancient times, the Backpack was used as a means to carry the hunter's larger game and other types of prey as a way of easier transport. Modern uses include stowing tactical gear, food and camping equipment. Two standard-size clips allow your fig to carry all sorts of compatible accessories. The Centurion Helmet is actually descended from an earlier Greek (Attic) helmet which came into fashion after the original Corinthian fell out of favor. Essentially it was a Chalcidian helmet with no nasal bar, hinged cheek guards and an inverted V-shaped brow plate. It was quite popular in the early Greco-Roman world where it was often ornately decorated and mainly used in ceremony. The reliefs of Trajan's Column support the idea that the Attic helmet survived well into the 1st Century AD to be used by Roman officers such as Tribunes, Legates and Praetorians in similar fashion. The dwarves skill with mining, metallurgy and magic allows them to create fantastic artifacts of legend. The Dwarven Helmet is no exception. With its banded crown, exaggerated cheek guards and flared neck guard, this piece lives up to the expectations of even the most surly, robust dwarf warrior. The backbone of the Roman army were the Legionaries; and the Imperial Gallic style Legionary Helmet provided the protection they needed to conquer the known world. Much like the real thing, our Legionary Helmet features a sloped neck, chin guards, horizontal brow and a pair of distinctive embossed eyebrows on the forehead region. The Particle Pack provides a portable way to accelerate and contain a questionable amount of electrically-charged particles to be used for *ahem* scientific purposes. The Particle Pack has a half-life of a few thousand years and can provide up to 500,000 MHZ, but steer clear of the self-destruct mechanism lest you reduce a half-mile radius to dust. Holster the Particle Gun or add your own components using the standard 1x1 connection points.

Strap on* the Powered Assault Armor to give your minifig all sorts of neat gadgets to survive in the harshest of alien environments. It's unique ABS construction provides infantry an added layer of protection against hot/cold temperatures and irritating space dust. The Ranger Hat is a broad-brimmed felt or straw hat with a high crown, pinched symmetrically at the four corners into a shape commonly known as the "Montana Crease". Originating in the 1840s the Ranger Hat was formally introduced into the military ranks in 1911 and proved well both in the field and in the garrison, it was well received by all branches of the Army. It provided unsurpassed protection against the elements and when worn for this purpose redeemed it self admirably. However, with the advent of modern war it impracticable against combat conditions. The Ranger Hat is still worn by several U.S. State Highway Patrol services, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, The Boy Scouts of America, park rangers, overly-insulting drill sergeants and fire-conscious talking bears.  Fits most standard minifig heads.
