Masks were often worn during the gladiatorial events to reduce the crowds' affinity with the warriors' identities. Of course the Gladiator Mask was also great for protection - even though it could be quite stifling and hinder peripheral vision. Perhaps what it lacked in function, it made up in form; opponents would never know where the eyes were looking, and the completely alien nature of the mask had to be unsettling. The Trident gets its name from the Latin three-teeth and was originally used by fishermen to skewer multiple fish at a time. Not unlike many other hunting untensils the Trident naturally found combat use as a military weapon. Hailed for its long reach and ability to trap other weapons between its prongs they were used fondly by gladiators to disarm opponents and deliver the final blow. The brightly dyed horsehair plumes attached to ancient helmets were mainly designed to make the warrior appear taller and more menacing. In later periods when the concept of uniforms and ranks began to develop plumes also served as a badge of rank. A Backpack is, in its simplest form, a fabric sack carried on the back; secured with types of straps. Backpacks are often preferred to handbags for hauling larger loads, because of the increased capacity to carry heavy weights for long periods of time. In ancient times, the Backpack was used as a means to carry the hunter's larger game and other types of prey as a way of easier transport. Modern uses include stowing tactical gear, food and camping equipment. Two standard-size clips allow your fig to carry all sorts of compatible accessories. A Beret is a soft round cap often worn by military forces, police units or the sensibly chic. Berets were originally worn by the Northern Basque peasants in Southern France and first used as a military headdress by the French Chasseurs alps in in the early 1880s. When properly worn the Beret should fit snugly around the head and is commonly pushed to one side. Make a fasion statement with your jet set Parisian or give your impressionist artist some style. Also a great accessory for myth-bustin' geniuses, comedians, musicians and beatniks. Beret fits most standard minifig heads.

Often secured atop a gentleman's hat or uniform headdress the plume signified a token of honor or achievement. Plumes were also placed atop military helmets to denote the rank of the wearer. Such ornaments were mainly plucked from prominent or rare species of bird. The classic Double Plume design features opposite, flowing feathers and a diameter that allows for a standard minifig grip. A Headlamp is a flashlight worn on the head for hands-free operation in dark environments such as mines, underground caverns and smoke-filled rooms; which means your miner, spelunker and firefighter minifigs can concentrate on more important things while wearing this accessory. Our soft ABS plastic contains an additive making it flexible - but not stretchable. Excess tugging and twisting may result in tearing. Pieces broken due to excessive play are not eligible for replacement.

A variety of headgear was seen throughout the history of the eastern world. The Turban was easily the most ubiquitous and indicated an individual's origin, religion and status. The imamah adhahaba form of turban is wound around a small qalansuwah hat - just visible on top - and the ends of the turban-cloth hang loose to form a rafraf. Such turbans were worn by sultans and nobles during the Crusades, often wrapping them around their battle helmets or decorative diadems.
