The Javelin is the name of a light spear designed primarily for casting as a ranged weapon. Cohorts of throwers were often employed in hit-and-run maneuvers to harass and taunt unprotected battalions, disrupting close formations. The Longbow is a fairly tall, D-shaped bow which accomodatesan extra long draw. As such it has been instrumental in many cultures as both a hunting tool and weapon of warfare. In the Middle Ages the English were famous for their very heavy Longbows which were used to great effect against the French. Longbows also became popular amongst mounted Samurai warfare and Native American tribesmen. In the hands of skilled archers, hundreds of thousands of arrows could rain down on an opposing force with severe consequences. Musket - Tan
A Musket is a muzzle-loaded, smooth bore long gun, fired from the shoulder. Muskets were designed for use by infantry, and soldiers armed with such had the designation musketman or musketeer. Replacing the infamous hand-cannon (arquebus), the Musket consisted of a lock, stock and barrel allowing easier wield, transport and improved accuracy. Despite its widespread use the Musket retained a long reload time - leading to continuous advancements in both the gun's design and tactical use until it was made obsolete by the more-advanced rifled musket. Recurve Bow - Tan
