Khopesh is the Egyptian name of the Canaanite 'sickle-sword'. Its origins can be traced back to third millennium Sumeria where it was most likely developed from its implement cousin; used to harvest grain or cutting grass for hay. Much like axes, spears & hammers; ancient sickles were modified by laborers into makeshift weapons for defense & protection. The spine of the Khopesh was made heaviest so that its center of gravity could better cleave through armor.......and assailants! Fits most standard minifig hands.

The Longbow is a fairly tall, D-shaped bow which accomodatesan extra long draw. As such it has been instrumental in many cultures as both a hunting tool and weapon of warfare. In the Middle Ages the English were famous for their very heavy Longbows which were used to great effect against the French. Longbows also became popular amongst mounted Samurai warfare and Native American tribesmen. In the hands of skilled archers, hundreds of thousands of arrows could rain down on an opposing force with severe consequences. The brightly dyed horsehair plumes attached to ancient helmets were mainly designed to make the warrior appear taller and more menacing. The Pilum is a heavy javelin commonly used by Roman Legionaries in ancient times. Standard tactics called for a soldier to throw his Pilum at the enemy just before charging to engage with his Gladius. The small point could penetrate a shield and wound the man behind it, or even pierce armor. It has often been said that the Pilum was designed to get stuck in an enemy's shield, forcing him to discard it.
