Alrighty, I got the new Soldier Helmet (sarge). I don't know if it is a print or Decal, but it scratches off fairly easily.

Good news: if you need the helmet in army Green without a rank, it is easy to scratch off with your fingernil.

The Bad News: If you want a rank it will scratch off after a bit.

I don't know if this is the same as the other items like the centaur with print, and what not, but this fix should work with all of them.

How to Fix it, I used Future Floor Wax, readily available at most stores in the cleaning department. It adds a shine, and a protective coat to the decal/print. Just apply with a paint brush and let it dry for about a half hour.

EDIT: 2-3 coats of floor wax is best, allow a half hour between each coat, then let it dry overnight.

I have never had a quality issue with BF's screen printing before, you might have just gotten a defective piece.

Too bad to hear it. I haven't bought any screen printed items from the Forge yet so I cant agree or disagree... but you were able to save the item? or do you think you need a new one?

My inclination is that because the soldier helmet has a shiny finish - the ink scratches off easier. Also, I know that white, in general has a different consistency so it remains opaque against dark backgrounds.

I've tested all of our other products and it is much more difficult to remove the print without some sort of abrasive.

Future floor wax is an excellent suggestion to protect printed parts ... it is a nice aqueous acrylic medium that is non-yellowing and dries clear. I use it on both lego and non-lego minis to protect decals and printing.

Yeah, it was easy to fix, just a tiny bit of games-workshop paint with a really tiny brush.
