The combo is a great way to get some 'texture' when you don't have the angled pieces needed to do cliffs and jagged rocks.

Duplo is a good 'build up element, not so good for detailing.

Agreed, that's why I used it more for the base of the mountain and cave.

Thanks! I used duplos for foundational blocks since I have a limited amount of free bricks for landscaping.
