Oh they're terrible! Whenever you press the tip a bit more than usual it snaps off.

Seriously, Ticons are the BEST. They're certainly the best I've ever used. As a matter of fact, their leads are the best I've seen. If you want real pencil misery, try MEGA brands pencils. Yes, MEGA brands, MEGA BLOKS, and Rose Art are the same thing. =U

Yeah, RoseArt pencils suck. I think the new Ticonderogas are much lower quality than they used to be, unless you get the 'Mirado' ones (they're black). I use a .7mm mechanical pencil and it works great.

I just got into using Zebra mechanical pencils and they ROCK! Always a nice sharp point... but it has a little itty bitty eraser :( Ticonderogas are great pencils too, but I only use the higher Bs... something really soft.

I have a more sketchy style, my Mom claims that I have trouble with color but in just plain drawing skill I'm in my 'zone'.
