well for starters, they state on their site and such that they are not responsible for displays and cannot be held accountable for them, so thats usually a big red flag saying, they ain't gonna watch my stuff.

on a side note is BrickForge going to be there? noticed their not on the vendors list.

All cons have that, but coordinators do watch over their areas. But if something is damaged or stolen, not much can be done about it. And even if you were there yourself, same thing can happen. I've been a coordinator for 5 years. I know how this crap goes down. :P

And if you keep displacing trust in others like this, others will see that and not send in mocs. That is how these cons survive is by mocs and attendees. No mocs = nothing for attendees to see and therefore no attendees. Show some support for your local con.

Besides airlines and hotels have that same warning. So how are you going to travel if you can't trust the people you fly with or the people you stay with?

The Problem is were being told no one will be there to watch the stuff and you should be present to keep an eye on your stuff, at most they might have one person checking in once in a great while, me I'm not a fan of how they are running it since any volunteers still have to pay their way in, even though they cannot enjoy the event but must work the ticket desk and so on.

and last year some displayers had things vanishing left and right.

And no where does it even say that on the site, cuz I'm looking at it. Coordinators are the ones moderating the areas. Maybe if they had me there, things would be handled better. I been able to watch my area and other areas altogether while doing other con duties AND pester Armothe AND still enjoy the con stuff at the same time. :P

And of course volunteers have to pay their way in. Events are not free. Even the head organizers pay their way.

Anyways all this doesn't matter cuz you have to be a registered attendee to have mocs displayed at BBTB.

Big armies like Lee Jones' are always more impressive to the public enemies. Smaller army builder's collections would be the same, but less so overall.
