So I've recently run into some pics of lego vpods online, but had never seen or heard of them before. From what I can gather, they were a part of a lego robot series? I love the idea of having a little container to carry pieces in to create a little moc on top of.

Anyone give me some history of these things?

I know what your talking about, but I don't know much about them. I got them for like $3-4 each at Walgreens a few years ago. I think one was little robots and one was like dinosaurs or some sort of animals. The pods were really cool, good to carry around little piles of parts.

Really? That cheap? Why wasn't I back into Legos a couple years ago. Now they all around $15 unopened.

X-Pods? Little containers with like 70 or so small pieces with instructions for like 3 different models, plus you could get cards to build more? I have the green, orange, purple, and blue ones; they are pretty nice.

I think the 'replacements' for those sets are the small $4 Creator sets that come in the little plastic containers reminiscent of Bionicle canisters.

I still have the red and yellow one, they are circular pods with just under 100 parts which can make three different things or anything you want to make.
