Hello chaps, I had this idea a few days ago while trying to pose a figure with detached arms, using clay. Anyone who has tried this can attest that making a good pose, while hiding any medium used, can be a big pain. So, why not design an accessory that fits the bill while still staying relatively concealed? I've had two ideas so far, and would love to hear any other suggestions from you guys!
1. "Hands-on-hips" posing belt- This one's pretty simple, but I think it could be useful. Basically, it would be a miniature gunbelt, sandwiched between the torso and leg assembly, but with a small 3mm cylinder on each side. This would allow the separated arm to hold onto the small nub, and still appear to be seamlessly attached to the torso.
2. "Crazy Arms." This one is tricky to describe, and tricky to make. Anyhow, here's what I have so far. Basically, it would be a neck-attached device much like the TLC backpack, made out of the same material as the existing bandoleer or waist skirt. Instead of a pack behind it, it would have a thin area, with two loops to either side. The loops would fit around the inner peg of the standard arm, and allow them to be attached so as to make the arms look spread akimbo, as if the figure were yelling of flying away from an explosion. Similarly, it could be turned to the front of the figure, to allow the figure to hold a weapon in both hands without looking awkward.
