Deseret Masonic Militia poster from my Western War story. I found out lots of Mormons are Masons, so I liked this idea for a brigade. Note the compass and square on the chest- Masonic symbol. Plus, the All-Seeing Eye on the flag; the Mormon army actually put that on their flags in real history. I drew this and edited it in GIMP.

EDIT:

Leader caricatures! I was pretty happy with these. :)

Nice! :) Is Deseret a type of soldier or did you mean desert?

Very nice work. My only little nitpick is on the mormon soldier, I think his gun barrel is a little crooked from the body

Danke schon! Yep, it is a little crooked. It's hard to line up when the head blocks part of it.

I know what you mean. I wasn't trying to insult you, btw. I probably couldn't draw straight with or without a head in the way ;9
Also, I learned something today: Deseret!

Oh, no! I wasn't offended in the slightest. C&C is more than welcome! :)

And yep, Deseret has a very interesting history. If you are interested in further knowledge: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nauvoo_Legion

Hey, art from Napoleon! 8o ;9

Great work, I see definite improvement! About the crooked gun, a good technique is to "draw through" the head/whatever to achieve straight(er) lines, then erase the extra marks. (I hope that makes sense. |D )

Also, the Deseret (new word for me...!) soldier reminds me of a Cobra trooper. >.>

Thanks, MC! Yeah, it's fun to make them all look really different.

@HK: Yeah, it has been a while since I got off my lazy behind and uploaded stuff. :9

I may have to try that technique, since now I can erase marks completely in GIMP.

Ya never heard of Deseret either? Wow, my dad, a former college teacher, gave me this huge US history book he used to use for his class; it had a lot of stuff about the Mormons in Deseret and Illinois. The US actually went to war with them in the mid-1800's. They're in my alternate history stories. That tank drawing I asked you for is actually for Deseret in my story. :) That's what this picture is for; I based it on "They shall not pass!" French WWI posters.

As for looking like a Cobra trooper: Wow, he kinda does!

EDIT: Here's what I based it on: Image

I might very likely have heard of Deseret before, and then forgotten it along with a multitude of other things.

Also... "YOU! SHALL NOT! PAAAAAAASS!"
