Chapter 1

It was a regular day at the complex, troops just hanging out in the huge recreation room, mess hall, and the corridors. I am Commander Nicholas Jones, code name: Jumper, commander of the Spec. Ops. Squad here at BARRICADE Base. I was with my two best friends, John and Robert, when over the loud speaker, I heard “Commander Jones, please report to General O’Brien’s office immediately”. While I walked through the halls, I saw other troops snickering. I just ignored them.

As I walked into the general’s office, he immediately briefed me on an important matter. He told me our patrols in New York City have reported a zombie attack. The Spec. Ops. Squad was to drop into the City and neutralize the threat. When I was dismissed, I went to tell the squad about the mission.

Chapter 2

“Drop in 2 minutes”, was heard over the speaker. The squad was in a stealth plane, 2 minutes out of New York City. Everyone was prepping their weapons. I was carrying my tan Bushmaster ACR, and two Glock 18s with extended mags. We assumed drop positions. Three, two, one, we jumped. Timing was perfect; we landed directly at the drop zone. We turned our night vision goggles on. The streets were empty and dark, with exception of a single street light, meaning the evacuation was successful. “Recon report, zombie ETA to your location, two minutes, repeat two min- what the.” The line went dead. We took cover, and in two minutes, the zombies appeared.

Chapter 3

Over the COM channel, I shouted “Standard troop support drop in 30 seconds.” I had just called in the reserved squad of standard troops, because there was a heck of a lot more zombies than we thought, and they were armed. We opened fire and the first line of zombies dropped. They returned fire. Bullets, grenades, throwing knives, you name it were flying through the air. I even charged and took cover in a doorway, armed with nothing but my two Glock 18s. Finally, after two hours, the zombies fled.

The next day, back at BARRICADE, my squad members were heroes. I was promoted to Lieutenant General. That evening, General O’Brien summoned me and said, “I hope you can do it again in Seattle.” “Here we go”, I thought.

I usually don't like zombie stories but this one was good. How would you even kill a zombie? Magic? ;9

I think you should blow 'em to pieces with a rocket launcher.

I heard it takes brain dmage to kill a zombie, and a gun would do just that. Except, do they even have brains? I mean, zombies are the living dead. :?
