I've been working on a dry brush/rub n buff project recently, and I need to apply a spray paint primer coat. My question is, do people have special set ups to do this? My worry about just painting and then leaving on newsprint/cardboard/mat to dry only to have it stick and or peel.

I thought about setting it up on a LEGO post held by a 1x1 cylinder. The inside might not get a full application, but the only place where the paint may 'stick' would be on the inside where it wouldn't be seen.

Any thoughts?

umm spray painting LEGO? bit of an over kill wouldn't you say? they do have paint on primers too.

Anyways I think a good setup would be a place that has good air flow for one.

I do the whole outside in the garage and spraypaint on the newspaper setup. :P

too each his own I don't since the Spray paint can ruin a work real quick if not applied correctly which can be a problem on something so small.

I a freaky purist...I don't paint, cut or glue anything....
but it's all cool!
I love spraypainted stuff...but yah, you should use an airy area, like an open garage.

It sounds like Omi hasn't had problems using a spray primer on newsprint (i.e. no issues with sticking), and Asterios would recommend a paint on primer.

I'll give it a go and let folks know if I run into issues.

If anyone is aware of a good, general painting tutorial please let me know.
