Just save up for it? Even if she wasn't an adult, it is very hard for many people to travel(like myself), and with the economy these days, that makes it even harder. With a house, bills, kids, food, and other needs using up money, that doesn't leave a lot of money. There are so many factors I could list right now about why not all people manage to save up enough money to travel across the country, but I won't. Not being snooty or anything, just saying, in times like now, saving up won't help you much. Not all people have a lot of money to freely spend on whatever they please.

money is a huge factor, but with family there's always ... priorities, and that's a good thing

I hope it's the hockey equipment that I've been looking forward to... Plus then I'd have an excuse (or more of one to get my parents to take me!) to go.. (we actually might!)
