BrickForge encourages a relaxed atmosphere when discussing minifigs, MOCs, customs and all things brick. While there are no official rules, we have provided a set of guidelines to keep the forum professional and enjoyable for everyone.

Participation Guidelines
- Malicious personal attacks will not be tolerated. Friendly disagreement, joking, and sparring are acceptable.
- Harassment of members either on or off the forum is prohibited.
- Please post new topics to the most relevant forum. Officers may move topics at their discretion.
- Please do not derail or hi-jack someone elses thread. Casually wandering off-topic for one or two posts is ok.
- Posting in ALL CAPS is a great way to be ignored. Please use CAPS sparingly.
- We politely ask that you use the best grammar, spelling and sentence structure you are capable of.
- Do not double or triple post. Please edit your post if you have something to add or detect a misspelling.
- SPAM is a no-no. SPAM is the practice of sending unwanted e-mail messages full of sales/commercial content to an indiscriminate set of recipients.
- Profanity (harsh or mild) or questionable material is not allowed.
- Panhandling, consisting of requests for money and donations, is not allowed.

Any of the above offenses is subject to a minimum 5-1 post count deduction. If we have to delete one of your posts, you will have five posts removed from your total post count. If we have to delete 10 of your posts, you lose 50, etc...

BF applies the 3-strike rule to offenders. 3 strikes and you're out!
Those shamed enough to earn a strike may suffer dire humiliation.

Avatar Guidelines
To upload or modify your avatar simply visit your User Control Panel which is located just under the Board Index.
Maximum Avatar dimensions are 90 pixels by 90 pixels.
Maximum file size is 20 KB.

Signature Guidelines
To enable or modify your signature simply visit your User Control Panel which is located just under the Board Index.
Your signature is restricted to two lines and a total of 75 characters (use them wisely!)
Maximum image size is 50 pixels high by 600 pixels wide.
BBCode, Images and Links are allowed.

Heya, Quickblade here, and I wanted to show you all a tip I use when posting that I thought would be useful to the members of Brick Forge. Ever wonder how a member gets a link to say something rather than be the actual URL? Well, here's how:

Click the URL tab above, and you will get this [url][/url] Instead of pasting in the URL, use the left arrow to get your cursor between the "l" and the "]" and type in the "=" then paste your link. After you have done that, type any word between the "]" and the "[" like "Link" and it should look like this Link The actual way it will show up when you are posting will be like this without the spaces [url = https://www.brickforge.com/store/home.php]Link[/url]

Posting an Image:
Click the IMG tab at the top and paste your copied URL in between the brackets. It's simple, but 2 little rules need to be mentioned. 1 Be mindful of the size of the images you link. They may affect the setup of a post and/or slow the loading of a page. 2 and most importantly, do not go posting images to each and every thing you can think of. This is after all a site about customizing.

Here's an example
Image

Making an Image a Link:
Click the URL tab and insert the link like by backspacing and putting = before it. Then click the Img tab and insert in the picture you want to make a link. It should look like this [url="link"][img]"picture%20link"[/img][/url]. Here's how it should work:

Thanks to Jackal for including this tip.

Very useful guide QB- I've stickied the topic since it's a common question. Perhaps some other guides would be useful too, like proper image posting and quotes.

I'm not sure. Different boards use different setups is my only guess.

Flickr uses HTML, Brickforge uses BBcode. Click the "How do I format my comment?" link under the posting box in Flickr to see the various codes you can use.

So does the picture have to be on-line on a different site or can you do it for one on your pc?

I'm not sure, but the picture I used as an example is hosted on my Brickshelf.
