Lol, well that sucks. I don't know, doesn't seem like smart marketing, if people are willing to pay money for it. Like, if it's in high demand. I mean, I understand reasons, it makes it special and everything. Money opportunity down the drain.

Demand for an item is often set by availability, and while the set you're talking about would likely be extremely desirable on it's own, the exclusivity greatly adds to that. Besides, like you said it makes the armor something special. I hardly think not selling out is the equivalence of "failure" as you seem to.
As for the store shutting down due to high activity, that's great
