I agree...this sounds like it would work well. Of course there's always the problem of people potentially telling someone else the code... DarkZephyr, you typed 'of course' wrong. You had it all one word and 'of' wasn't spelled correctly, so I had to go in and edit it. Sorry for any confusion.

brickswap is a website that is similar to a forum, but people swap pieces or buy pieces from eachother
they give addresses and stuff i think
i have never actually used it myself
but yeah

to get the parts i need i trade with the lego trading post on www.flickr.com its fast and easy and you will learn who is a good trader or not. also they dont welcome new comers well so you have to work your way up.
