So I'm a returning FOL... came out of my Dark Age almost one year ago, July of 2013, and am in love all over again.

I used to work with Stikfas, and action figure kit- ball and socket, lots of accessories. A forum sprang up around that product, and for a while was thriving. Lots of friendships, ideas shared, contests... It was a toy made to customize, and it sucked me right in. Well, that toy died, and so did the forum... and so did most of the relationships.

I have a lonely life. Losing that kinda made it worse. I dip and dab all over the Lego-net... Flickr, Brickset, Brickshelf, Bricklink, MOCpages... but it's like ultimate ADD- everything you do or say is 'Poof', then forgotten.

So I'm getting better at being unattached to this coded world.

I'm starting this thread here at BrickForge because this is closer to what I want my toys and play to be. I think the purist approach is cool- Lego has a math to it, and to find that perfect equation that meets your vision is amazing... but don't be a douche about it. I take inspiration from all sorts of things, and almost anything can end up in a minifigs hand- a MegaBlok piece, or a mouse bone. It doesn't matter... it's my imagination speaking.

And since this is a place of imagination realized, I'm going to use this thread as a gallery of BrickForge elements, a showcase of mocs, a blog, a psychiatrist... LOL... consider yourself warned!!!

I want to build big. I want to build beautiful. So I'm starting at the start. There's like 7 zillion MOCs on Flickr that inspire me- from huge table layouts to 11 piece micro-amazingness. But I'm going to do it like the kid I should have been...

So I am elaborating sets for the most part right now... Learning building techniques, getting used to the block. I'm playing with minifig design, and making a few ships and environments from scratch... But I don't want to miss anything, so I'm trying to go through the progression of a child learning this toy for the first time. I don't want miss any of the magic.

I have a Flickr page here:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/stikfas/sets/

So, welcome to my journey if you want to watch or walk.

Okay, just moved and unpacking... not really set up for good pictures, but I really wanted to post something that had some of the awesome elements I've gotten from BrickForge.

I'm building an Ewok Village/ Avatar Home Tree. I wanted one of the tribes to be Fox- using the Furty minifig from Chima. As there was only one fox mold, I did some mixing and matching.

The pictures suck, but it's a start!

Welcome, and actually Lego building ... and breaking down ... can be great stress therapy, lol
Very cool pics, and I like your ideas.

I too am a large scale builder ... here are three of the items I've listed on BF:

BF Camo'd
Pirate Island
Geisha Garden

I look forward to seeing your builds!

minifigCharmed, I like your builds... the Geisha garden especially is in the kinda direction I want to go. I love the color and layout. The tree and the paper pieces are way cool. I like seeing some of the pieces in action, like those sweet mushrooms.

Incidentally, to whoever, my thread got moved from Crafter's Corner to Travelers Tent. I wanted to make this my permanent thread of customs, how to I get out of the lobby and back into the workshop? :?

I moved it and then made a shadow topic because of the circumstances. Some neat creations you have going on.

Sorry, not used to this forum's flow yet.

I was wondering if any members here customize Stikfas still. Stikfas are compatible with Technic figures, and I was hoping to collaborate, try to utilize some BrickForge elements into Stikfas MOCs.

Karf Oohlu does some really amazing builds... I can just see some cool BF add-ons in there...

I've only dabbled so far. I'm just getting a station set up after my move, so hopefully Soon!
I'd like to finish this build, it's a little monochromatic...

And this little modification turned out pretty well, he's not fancy, but I like the scale.

If anyone is interested in a Stikfas like scale/toy, KidMechano has an awesome figure he prints_

And then, there's this...
http://www.shapeways.com/model/1381965/ ... erialId=62
http://www.shapeways.com/model/703880/n ... erialId=91

Totally badass, and to me, more fitted for BF elements than standard minifigs.

I hope I'm not stepping on toes with links and other products... I'm just ready to get back to customizing toys, and am very excited to find a place like this that is geared toward getting the hell out of the box. More options= more coolness.

I have a couple Stikfas, wasn't aware they weren't being made anymore. I really liked them as I am a big fan of the plastic model kit type things. Definitely have considered getting KidMechano's figure, I've got a Shapeways shop with some goalie stuff for minifigs if that's up your alley.

I haven't been doing much in terms of customizing Lego lately but you've got me thinking about other pathways in the same area.

So one of my check-ins is always http://www.neoape.com. Lots of goodies. One of the things they recently posted was a review of the GhostBusters set by the submitter, Brent Waller. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVJtHa5rYDs

How very cool! But... is it just me, or does he seem a little peeved or something? Maybe he's just camera shy.

Go for it, hawkxs!!! I was browsing shapeways last night, and saw goalie stuff, wondering if I was looking at your stuff and didn't know it yet.

Getting set back up is taking forever, but I'd like to take BF up on their friendly challenge to cut, scrape, and glue up their elements into some yummy funkiness.

Even our failed attempts are steps closer to awesome ideas that weren't in play before.

BF's items are amazing to use, 'alter', and refig. I really, really, really, (did I say really) like their soft plastic items ... so many options!
