I prefer Yellow. My main reasons are because being a fan since 1979, minifigs have been yellow. The heads are cheaper, there is a wider variety, and I don't feel like I am using a specific character when I use any yellow head, unlike the character based flesh colored heads.

I can not mix yellow and flesh heads in a MOC or scene. Even to designate a racial difference like humans vs. elves. Younger fans and newer or fringe fans are more accepting of flesh colored heads for a variety of reasons. I'm not totally opposed to flesh colored heads. I'm happy that we have both to choose from. If they were to completely change all minifigs to flesh color, I'd be very angry. Yellow just says LEGO to me.

I agree. yellow does look more Lego like. But i'm a fan of star wars and the hobbit (both flesh colored), so i have a lot more flesh stuff than yellow. plus, the flesh colored figs are more realistic to me.

Flesh colored minifigs are all from license themed sets. With the success of license themes (particularly Star Wars, Harry Potter, Super Hero, & LOTR) Lego will be making flesh figures for years to come. In the late 90's early 2000's Lego was in the red and business was bad. Even though I'm not crazy about licenses, that is what brought them the success they have and the popularity of the toy has increased dramatically. If they can keep providing both avenues of Yellow and Flesh colored figures, I know a lot of people will be happy. Fans of one color over the other run into problems when the torso or legs have skin colored parts printed on them. One thing I wish they'd do is reuse the faces from flesh heads on yellow heads.

I like the Hobbit and LoTR sets, and will leave them as they are. But, when I build or make customs I use the yellow.
I do agree with QBlade, I wish they would make some of the faces from fleshies for yellow.
