I've gotten about 8 genuine leather jackets and 3 pairs XL genuine leather trousers from thrifting. I took a liking to one of the jackets, and now wear it; the rest is consigned to become crafting material. Also, other assorted goods, like fabric, bags, belts which can be scavenged in various ways and put into use. I have a dozen or so belt buckles from thrifting that more-or-less match the silhouette if not the detailing of Saxon, Norman and Viking belt buckles (comparing them to this article
and items from Raymond's Quiet Press
), minus the mounting plates which I've cut from sheet but thus far have had trouble riveting onto my belt blanks. :x
So yeah, thrifting is awesome. Most of the jackets and such were $1 each. 2 yards of cloth for $2. Belts for 50 cents. Only got 20 dollers in my pocket.
