Umm... You aren't going to get a working M1 Garand for $300. Otherwise me and my friend would have two of them instead of a shotgun and a 30.30. Working Garands are usually about $1600+.

They have sales here every once in a while of surplus or new production Garands for $900.

The info I read was totally wrong then.

So, CB, what's the best gun for 250-300 dollars? I inherited a weird shaky problem from my Dad, so I'd prefer a gun with a stock.

EDIT: Oh, yes, and I'm making a FO New Cali Republic uniform out of surplus. I'm making some aluminum greaves right now.

It's just for fun, but I'll wear the ranger jacket (desert surplus tunic with the patches ripped off and replaced with NCR badges).

@Napo: I'd recommend looking at a pawn shop for guns that are in good condition, probably something in .30-30 or .30-06. Also would recommend a gun safety course or something.

I had an absolutely crappy weekend.
First, I failed my situps because my hands came undone (your fingers have to remain interlaced behind your head) because my hat slipped. And I was at 2 less than required to pass, but got terminated because of that. Passed everything else.
Then, some idiots got caught with knives and tobacco, which we're not allowed to have at drill. So the entire bay got smoked. Low crawls, high crawls, weapons PT (which especially sucked for me because I had the SAW), and I had to do bear crawls while a guy that weighs 50lb more than me and is 5" taller held onto my neck from under me.
Then, I left my SAW at my bunk because I was cleaning the bathroom, and I told a guy to watch it (Because all weapons must be guarded). The blue falcon walked away from my weapon long enough for the drill sergeant to come along and find it, so me and a random guy got smoked for that.
I am sore as hell and I'm glad I can just go to sleep.

So yeah while disassembling/reassembling the SAW for weapons training this weekend, I skinned the top of my finger. No big deal.
I just got jalapeno juice on it ._.

@Sentinal: Nice, how much more you have to do?
