Maybe you shouldn't plan ahead? Would that work better?

By the time Karl Marx died he actually hated his creation because it was blatantly obvious people were doing it wrong. Also he was German, not Russian, so his state wasn't red. Plus, didn't the association with red come from the Red army? Or was the Communist Manifesto originally printed in red? My cover is black with red letters, but it was printed in the early 60's.

I didn't know Marx lived to see the people screw up. I'll have to look that up. I heard he was just a philosopher, and didn't sit around planning on dividing Vietnam or assassinating Kennedy. :9

Red comes from the Revolutions of 1848, when the Socialists chose it to represent the blood of the workers. The red-black-gold German flag came around at the same time.

1848 is really interesting. That was the beginning of modern politics, really.

The establishment of modern Germany around that time is considered the birth of Nationalism which is responsible for modern politics. Also. Socialism is not communism. Communism is however a form of socialism.

Actually Germany wasn't established till much later in the 1800s, and that was as a fairly authoritarian empire. The kings stamped out the pan-German republicans.

Communism stole being Red from socialists, though, at least according to my books. I was just answering you about red.

I say, an historical MT discussion! It's been so long. :D

You ever think something, then get pissed for thinking it?
I just went through a 30 second thought process, and when I was done thinking, I realized that it was one of the stupidest things I've ever thought.

Germany was found in the 1870's or 1880's wasn't it? Well. Whenever they were founded is widely considered the beginning of modern politics.
