Reasons I don't even attempt to draw/do art: Your "beginner"/test art piece on a new piece of equipment is better than I can trace. Can't wait to see what sort of amazing work you pull off once you really get the hang of it.

That was awesome. I love the shiny look to it. I wish I could afford a tablet. :|~

Thanks! The tablet, let's see ... I've waited for ... 7 years to find one that I could use, and then to be able to afford it. :o)

2nd test ... from a photo my husband took

I have a ways to go, but this didn't turn out too bad.

"Ways to go" she says. "Didn't turn out too bad" she says. Pffft. Please see my statement at the top of this page. :oP

The only thing that really seems "digital" to me is the grass in the foreground. The rest of it could easily have been a scanning of a drawing that was then colored/touched up digitally.

Would it be possible to see the original photo your husband took? Mostly because it seems like it would be a cool looking photo.

Thanks.

Sure!
It's a sweet photo of an old wooden culvert up in some mountains near us. He said it was built around the 1940's.

The photo is actually clearer, but I used my phone to take the pic.

3rd test: a Rose

This is my third round with this piece. The 1st was working with the colors to find what I wanted. 2nd was to help create definition of the flower. 3rd was to regain the actual petals and form ...
I also played with degrees of layering to give shape and some object depth.

I'm not fiinished. I have at least 1, probably 2 rounds to go ... I hope.

Enjoy
:o)

Yeeek! These last two are amazing. The water in the log is especially great. :D
