Thanks, Biohazard: The one GOOD thing about the whole situation was that I was able to provide some serious comfort to my fiance through the entire ordeal.....

Oh, and on the subject of playing online using microphones: I don't play online, mainly due to the fact that my internet setup sucks major donkey, but I happen to have an F1-type telephone handset that I got at the local Army Surplus store, which looks like this:

Image

(in other words a WWII-era type phone handset), that I was thinking about modifying to use as a gaming mic, particularly with WWII-type FPS games or possibly Fallout 3... :9

I figured it would be appropriate because such handsets were used on EE-8 model field telephones, which were in service from ~1935 to ~1960.... (I actually have a complete working EE-8A field telephone that I modified to work on a regular subscriber phone line without batteries, but that's another story. ;))

@UB: Mine is Biohazard1194, send me an invite. I'll accept it when I get back from my friends house.

Yes, Halo with friends is great!
ME3 is super too!

I'll add you guys too ... if that's ok. I already have S133 and a couple of others from the forum, though my group gaming hours are far and few right now ... I'm Mumz Opt, :o) Mac, what is yours?

@UBlitz: that's awesome on the Geth Engineer, I unlocked the Justicar last night.

You can totally ad me.
I'm a little sad with the Geth's voice. The Asari sound like Liara and the Quarians sound like Tali (I'm not sure if the Krogans sound like Wrex/Grunt or the Turrians sound like Garrus), but the Geth have a much deeper voice than Legion. :\ It's unfamiliar and a lot more masculine than I'd like.

Yep. Download should be done by then. I'm kind of excited. I haven't played Halo at all for 3 years. I'm not exaggerating either. I haven't played any Halo game once for the past 3 years, and never with friends. I imagine I'll like the series a lot more when it becomes more social for me.

Yeah, once my friends stop playing with me (cause they do some more hard core gaming than I do so they play things like 2 v2 against each other for practice) I stop playing. It's much more fun when it's social.

You know, it is pretty cool, but I find all the options a little overwhelming I guess. I start wandering around and then I'm not motivated to do anything.

Speaking of surplus: My field-worn WWII Soviet Ssh40 came today! :D It's flap-jackin' awesome. Last time the sweat-stained leather-and-horsehair liner was changed was 1959, and the helmet itself has all the correct WWII markings. It has some very minor scratches, and zero dents. Urah, komrades!

lol

@Mac: the Halo series is sooo much fun with friends, it'll be worth it!

@Hikaro: sorry about the cat, and the house hunting; but, glad you were there for comfort ...
and I know what you mean about the internet. Mine is working decent for now; but, when the leaves come back out on the local trees my gaming ability will be gone until fall again - unless the net company would actually ... fix it ... (I won't hold my breath, but it could happen).

@HMaster: Yes! Skyrim is a great game, and full of so much to do too.

@Napo: well, that's 'stinkin' awesome!! Really, very cool.

I think that'd work out for me too.

Well, my fiance and I had a somewhat rough weekend together: Her one cat got really sick Saturday, and had to be put to sleep on Monday, and she was devastated. :(

That sucks, what'd the cat have?

BTB is where it's at. Do they even have that in Reach? It's been so long since I actually played mutliplayer.

Yeah. Don't know about anyone else, but I was really disappointed in the lack of differing loadouts in Reach, I know that they're in Invasion, but Invasion requires teamwork. Or so I recall.

So, while playing other games, I developed this twitch when I die, turns out that it carries over into Halo.
