I'd love to see an eagle figurine like the bat and a pole to put it on like I tried to design (see picture). It's not a perfect design, but hey, I'm a linguist, not a designer! The eagle could be used for architecture as well.
You can add a round shield to it, but LeoCad didn't have the new types.
I'm sure many of those ((={:|) guys would love to see it, too.

Most of the pictures I have seen depict the "Eagle" with its wings above it and encircled by a wreath, or semi folded by its sides. If you made the second position, it would also be suitable for French Napoleonic troops!

Cobi do make quite a nice Roman standard in their range.

There were many other types of Roman Standards including Wolves, A Hand, A Capricorn, Bull and also Vexillae, like flags but hanging down from a crossbar. Many of these included awards or decorations down the staff to commemorate heroic actions.

In later years small statues of the Emperor were carried either full body or just Head and shoulders. Mounted on a pole and carried by an officer called an "Imaginifer".

It is also worth noting that Roman Standard Bearers, Aquilifer, Signifer etc. were popular men. They ran their unit "bank accounts" and the fund known as the "Burial Club". So if they were kiled or captured, the whole unit might suffer financial distress! ((={:|)

I know that there were other animals or even human heads on top of the standard. I just thought that an eagle is the most iconic.
I've checked out the Cobi version, but "my" eagle can be taken off and used elsewhere.
Yeah, well, just an idea anyway.

I would love to see this made. I agree it would be useful for more than just Roman Legion standards.
It does mean I could finally replace my subsitution:

We need Roman standards! I've been looking forward to creating a Roman army!

I've tried to make one from existing pieces, but a proper eagle would still be better: Click

This was an item we considered making when we first released our Roman gear. It would have been an eagle with spread wings that you could attach/detach to a 3.175mm post. Of course it could also be used as an actual eagle. It didn't make the cut because we felt that the Pauldrons and various weapons were a better choice.

So, you won't consider it again? I get that you can sell more weapons and pauldrons, but still...PLEASE?!
