That's a pretty wicked helmet/face gear type of thing. He's even extra menacing with that bucket handle on his helmet. That right there would make me think twice about confronting him |D

I can't help but wonder why there is no female character this time around. I think a green ninja would be perfect for her.

Uh, Quickblade, if you were to do a bit of digging on the Eurobricks thread, *SPOILER ALERT* you'd find that "Samurai X" is, in fact, a girl. :D She is one character from this set I'm definitely getting multiples of (although I'm probably going to use some other Maedate than the provided pearl-gold bucket handle. |D

I've heard that the first sets have already begun to appear at various Toys R Us stores, but I've already got a fair amount of the next two months' LEGO budget committed towards a certain ship project.

I don't like the horns they used for the Samurai's helmet. It is the handle for the buckets. That is pathetic. Lego has a mold they can use for that, and they instead use bucket handles.

The helmet crests should not all look the same. Bucket handles add a fun new variation.

I agree with SV. Of course a completely new crest (dragonfly?) would have been better.

Well, that's what BrickTW is for. ;) I've been using their gold-chromed "Flame Bow" as an oversized helmet decoration for the officers' helmets... IIRC they have some kind of twin-dagger or something like that which should look good as a Maedate... Have to check their Brick Link store and see.

Thanks for the heads up on the female character. I'd rather she was introduced as a green ninja (something I did on my own with the original Ninja line), but parts are parts and us customizers will find a way to make it fit our universe best we can.
