This was a total fail, in my opinion:

About half way through, I gave up and just went for a lazy finish. The initial sketch was too rough and the shadowing was a pain as well.

Might have to start drawing entirely with the tablet.

How is that a fail, it's awesome.

It's just not up to my standards and expectations.

That is awesome; I think you're being too self-critical. You did an amazing job!

This is really good, not perfect true but still really good!
It has a lot of character, good skills, and some great picture composition balance.

You sound like me ... being an artist with a perfection issue is No Fun, know what I mean.

Indeed: suffered from it ever since I started with Clone Trooper building. In fact, a lot of the stuff I draw has actually been built, but I'm not content with showing them off yet (mostly because I hate my photography.)

(I know this isn't LEGO, but it's part of the same project - Mods, let me know if it's a problem.)

Calall is the sole gas planet in the Paradi System. With it's massive size, a pair of planetary rings, and 12 sattelites, it is the system's most distinguishable body. The gas giant also features a menacing blood red cylcone, known as the 'Eye of Calall,' that has not ceased ever since first colonisation over a thousand years ago. Due to its unstable rings and the planet's gravity, the satellites are prone to asteroid strikes, forcing the inhabitants of the moons to employ various weapon systems to defend their colonies and mining operations.

Created with GIMP.

That looks pretty cool. Can't wait to see it worked out in minfig form.

More faction-related artwork (also can someone move this topic to the Commons with the other artwork threads, please):

Parsador is the homeworld of the Dominion. It is tidally locked with the planet Telsar, so the same sides of both planets always face each other. In addition, tidal forces draw most of Parsador's water towards and away from Telsar, resulting in a band of land mass wrapping around each side ofthe planet. This is referred to by the Parsadorans as the 'Continental Arch'; the land mass is separated at the south pole by a body of water. Parsador's crust has the most accessible metal ore deposits of all the planets in the system, but only a portion of these has been exploited and exported; the Dominion's refusal to actively engage in an interplanetary economy prevents other nations from accessing them.

Slight gravitational disturbances to the Parsador-Telsar system are enough to initiate severe earthquakes on the surface of both planets. These earthquakes occur planetwide and almost unexpectedly, and unlike other planets are unrelated to tectonic movement. To protect themselves from these random and destructive events, the Parsadorans constructed massive modular structures all across the planet for the commercial, residential and industrial sectors. These megastructures are essentially giant dampened platforms tethered to the earth, with the cities and facilities built on top of them, and absorb most of the earthquake energy before it hits the substructures and their inhabitants.

Rotational period: 26.3 standard hours
Orbital period: 423.1 standard days
Gravity: 1.20
Diameter: 11 096 km

Paired Body: Telsar
Satellites: 3 (Tyral, Kadron, Perseus; shared with Telsar)

Ownership: Parsadoran Dominion
Population: 1.23 billion
