Has anyone noticed that LEGO changed their axe head's thickness for the clip?

I didn't notice that, interesting, which one is older? And are they both still being released, like the differences in minifig heads that was being discussed some where else recently?

Yep. The originals broke fairly easily. The new ones should be more durable, though they do look bulkier.
The pearl silver one in the Viking collectifig is like this as well.

They're both new I got one from a Ninjago set and the other from a Prince of Persia set.

My only :( axe head came in a Ninjago set but I have compared it to other axes owned by my friends, and yes it is thinner (at least mine is thinner I don't know if that's a general rule) Oh, don't get Ninjago skeletons, they break WAY too easily!!! X0
