(Since this was lost in the forum move, I thought I'd add it again for those interested)

My largest labor of Lego-love yet ... I give you my Pirate Isle Finale, completed in 2010. This hidden island of precious yellow stone makes a great pirate hideaway, including a treasure cave that I hope to someday light with hanging crystals.

This island spans 40" long by 30" wide, and mountain peak is 21" without the crows nest.
All bricks are Lego or Duplo.

In the past this thread was really long due to the tons of photos I had linked ... covering the different phases as I built. If there's enough interest I can provide links to them.

Enjoy!

That's really incredible... This is also the first MOC I've seen that combined DUPLO and LEGO bricks... Didn't turn out too bad, if I may say so.

Thanks!

K97: yes, my hand ;)

jakeywakey: I'm sure yours is great too, be sure to post it!!

HT: Yes, its a combo of duplo and lego ... actually the first build I've done that way. I'm pleased with how it turned out. The idea to use the mix was from Ddbird215.

My fav parts are the water and all of the plant life ... love those BF 'shrooms!!!

Cool! I like how you incorporated duplo bricks into it, I never see anyone do that.

I've never seen that either... the DUPLO/Lego combo. I didnt think you could mix them until I borrowed one of my nephews DUPLO blocks and connected some of my Legos with it.
