@Napo: Yeah. It would be pretty hard to incorporate fantasy creatures into the current world in a believable fashion. Wait... So you don't have any interest in the French Resistance? They were cigarette smoking, trench coat wearing, bridge bombing bad***es. Also; Charles de Gaulle. I love he just shrugged off all of the assassination attempts on him. It was all very "meh" to him.

@D&D Stuff: I'd have to start a new character since I've never actually played D&D before. Don't a lot of people hate 4th edition? Oh. How many people do we need for this to be worthwhile? As for programs die generators are easy to find, and the mapping programs are free. The only thing you have to do is upload the photos. Character sheets are also easy to get.

@Hawkxs: That could work, how much edition specific knowledge would one need?

Alternatively, we could use: http://www.rpgtonight.com/ , we'd have to keep track of HP and such ourselves, but, it could work.

@Mac: Average gaming groups are 3-5 PCs and a DM/GM. Each edition has it's following, plenty of 2e players hated 3e, plenty of 1e players hate every other edition, and so on, just like loads of 4e players will hate 5e.

I thought 4e was especially unpopular. Guess not. So you said you'd DM, I'm 100% in once I relearn the rules, and hawkxs is considering it. We need one more person. I believe Blitz was the person who briefly mentioned D&D and started this, but I'm guessing she's to busy to do it. Hmm. Who else would be up for it? Come on. You know you want to...

@SM - I'm a bit confused as to your question. 4e is as far as I can tell, just 3.5e with more annoying things to keep track of (powers, rituals etc) - it took me about an hour and a half to roll up a character for 4e with the PHB whereas it would have taken me about twenty minutes with 3.5.

It would be easy to play in the forum, just use flickr to upload maps and stuff, and make a new topic for the campaign.

We definitely have enough interest, just have to define an edition and what we're going to use to play.

@mac I don't like 4e. I have 3.5e and if I DM'ed that's what we'd be playing. I don't see huge differences in content and fun, just details from 3.5 to 4. And that you can't be CG in 4 which I blatantly ignored when making my char.

Well, I've never played anything cept' for 4e, I was wondering if there was much difference between the editions that would make a change in how the program was used/the game was played.

I believe S133 had mentioned interest, as had alby.

Edit: Maybe we should start a planning thread.

What does CG mean?

@SM: We probably should start a planning thread. There's one thing I don't know how to do online, and that's loot. Is it a preset list of loot?

Like I said, the general idea is the same, 4e just has more little things in it I guess... Tries to balance out the races and classes a little bit more, adds more optional garbage.

I really like polyhedral dice. They rule.

Who wants to start the thread/where should it go?

tbh - I have a table of loot/generator somewhere, not a problem.

CG=Chaotic good. Personally, I always use the traditional 9 axis alignment system, even in 4e

I'll start a thread in the scriptorium

:P I wrote it myself and thought he meant computer generated. Way to take that out of context.

Ooh, I must not have been clear; everything after WWII and Algeria is where I lose interest.

I gotta do some math stuff, but after that, I'll try to type something up. Ergh, I wish I hadn't lost that original draft! :(
