Then why have a three month break in which you can forget nearly everything you learned over the last 9 months?

Because that was last year's material. :P

Hmm. I'm thinking about making a major change to "To Hell and Almost Back" which I've been working on off and on. I might make it about Spetsnaz during the Russo-Afghan War instead of a U.S. platoon in 2002... Eh. I'm too lazy to go back a change a bunch of it. I'll stick with the Marines.

The American school system is easy. Try going to school in Japan. It's all year with few breaks about a week at the most, 6 days a week. My kids are BORED going to school here. "Daddy we did this already." "Daddy we learned this already in Kyoto." I hear this at least once a week. I've been petitioning the school board to skip my kids a grade or two.

Funny, I would have used Powered Assault Commando as heavier in anything I would make...but I guess that's a Halo thing.

I thought he was talking about play value and stuff. :P

Both are high quality, but the Shock Trooper is a bit thicker and tougher.

I meant as in if this were real, or in a role play scenario. I kind of need to know for my RP (ooh I used an abbreviation!) group so I can make up some stats. I'm going with the SM (another!) armor as medium armor class and the Shock Trooper as heavy. Hardsuits are "super heavy".

So I straight piped my car today. First reaction upon starting it up:
Oh. My. God. 8o

Yeah. It's loud.

The Powered Assault Commando armor would be heavier. It has recharging energy shields, multiple crystalline and gel layers, and titanium alloy layers.
The Shock Trooper armor is just titanium alloy. In the Halo lore of course, but for your purposes, pick what you think works for you.

Bricklink order has arrived, Pick-a-Brick order has arrived, Brickforge order to be made when I have internet at the house. I think I have a problem... Is there an AFOLs Annon?

In humorous probably only to me news: When I logged on earlier today the only other people on, according to the little "who's online" thing on the front page, were Armothe and Quickblade. I felt as though I was intruding and promptly left.

Well, I got my video card and hard drive from NewEgg Wednesday, but I couldn't find the proper software installation package for my Verizon Wireless modem, and I ended up having to go to the Verizon store twice to get them to download it onto a micro-SD card for me (the first time the guy in the store gave me the wrong version), so I wasn't able to get my internet up until fairly late last night....

The new video car and switching to XP Pro, or SOMETHING must have worked, because I reinstalled LDD and it works now!

...Of course, my computer is becoming the electronics version of the Ship of Theseus (i.e. I built this computer 10 years ago... Since then I've replaced the primary HD, the original Optical drive, the original RAM and original Video card.... IS this, in fact, the computer I built 10 years ago?)...

Applied for a second job today. I feel so powerful having the Army as a reference ;9

Trying to decide whether I want subs or an air intake for my car. I'm thinking subs. Those will have to wait though, until I have enough to buy all the stuff at once.
This month I'm definitely tinting my headlights though.
