Hey everyone! I've finally graduated from Basic Combat Training! I'm so glad to be out of that hell hole. For the record, Fort Sill Oklahoma sucks. It's hot. It got so bad one day during our FTX (Field Training Exercise) it got up to a 120 degree heat index. It was insane. Other fun/interesting things that we did were Basic Rifle Marksmanship.... Which, by the way, I got expert

I shot a 37/40, probably could've gotten a 38 or 39 but my weapon jammed. There's also the infamous gas chamber. Which sucks, as you can guess. Throat and lungs were on fire, it was insanely hard to breathe, my body actually keeled over and I couldn't hold myself up, my buddy behind me had to hold me up. The 16k was easy, we pretty much walked 10 miles in 4 hours with a bunch of gear (To include a 40lb+ backpack, body armor, Molle vest, helmet, and M16). There was also the FTX I spoke of earlier. It was pretty awesome, we all got to live in a FOB (Forward Operating Base) for a few days. Each squad went out on missions, and during each mission a squad from another platoon would be the OPFOR, who would ambush the US soldiers. And of course, there were the drill sergeants. Who yelled. A lot. But, all in all, it was an amazing experience and I'm glad to be an American Soldier! I'm glad to be back with you guys. I've missed you all, and I'm looking forward to seeing if and how the Forge has changed while I was away.
