Y'all were discussing a duffel bag type thing. Well, now I have created one for your enjoyment.

It holds a 2x3 plate easily, and would probably hold a brick that size too.
Here's the pattern:

Print dimensions should be 2"x2". Cut out the striped parts.
You'll also need a strip about 2" long by 1/4" wide.
I will add pictures if anyone needs/wants them for sewing help, but here's how you do it basically:
1. Cut out your pieces in a fairly tight-woven fabric (no muslin!). I used a cotton-poly blend for the camo bag. You can pick up fabric remnants at your local fabric store fairly cheaply and get a lot of minifig accessories from one piece.
2. Fold one short edge towards a long edge, right side in, (forming a corner of the bag) and use a small running stitch up and back down the side. Tie it off, then repeat that on the other three corners.

Hopefully the drawing helps a little.
3. Fold the top flaps over onto the other edge of the short/end sides. Sew them using the running stitch on each side.
4. Turn right side out.
5. Sew the end of the strip, wrong side out, upside down (the strip will hang down instead of pointing up) on one end of the bag. Run it around the bottom of the bag and sew the other end the same way. Flip the strap around and you should have a nice duffel bag.
