Well, I may have been offline, but I haven't been in a dark age. I'd welcome C&C, and there's more pics on Flickr, as always.

First up is the Blitzpaner, a heavily armored assault mech:

Next up to bat it the DRONE, a space utility worker:

The ultra-poseable Doughboy mk ii:

And Reggie, the Psychedelic Digital Knight:

Here, the DRONE and a Blitzpanzer go head on:

Favorites? Least favorites? Any ways I could improve bodies or joints?

These look great!
I like them all. If I had to pick ... probably would be the first pair.
I haven't built anything like these, so no suggestions; but they look great!

That's some cool stuff- I've always admired those small mech builds, but minifigCharmed, haven't dabbled.
My first impression of the BlitzPanzer pic is that I was looking at an Explorien and Spyrius mech fight. The colors are close enough. Solid builds, I really like their body posture.

My only real throw out on those is really just one of my own obsessions- Having a spread of BlitzPanzers, each one subtly modified in color and accessories to reflect all the Space themes.

The Doughboy is radical. Sweet body language on that one especially. I am really impresssed, and plan to unashamedly steal that hip joint and rotor cuff use of the tap. I've never seen that before, but it's an amazing way to create a ball socket effect. Very nice!

Thanks. I definitely look forward to seeing with what you come up with, you'll have to show us all! :)

Dang, now I've got the urge to go make a Futuron Blitzpanzer....

Generally, I find that a good way to start a mech build is to decide what kind of joints you want to use, whether it's a new design like that tap idea or an old favorite. Once you've got the function down, the rest is mostly embellishing in a way that keeps the limbs in the right spot.

Huh, what decal? I'm afraid there isn't a singe decal on any of these mechs. :?

Oooh, Win ALL the internets |D

Didn't realize we had another Robotech fan around, got a favorite generation?

I'm guessing once I finish up the Black Beauty, I'll have to build either a minifig scale Cyclone, or a Battlepod to take on this lil' guy.

All of my internets, so not much, but it is something.

I have and have only seen the Macross saga, Masters, and New Generation, but I think there's supposed to be more? I don't think I could pick a favorite, though I recall not liking New Generation as much. I think it's actually been years since I watched any of that stuff.
