@MC: I wish I had gotten more PotC sets. They were good, and provided an outlet for pirate parts while classic pirates is in toy purgatory for now.
Looks good Napo. I am slightly bothered by the over hanging part on the tower. The physics involved just seem crazy. The detail is great however. The figures aren't bad and even though I'm not a fan of flesh figures, yours look nice.
The photography isn't bad. Lighting and shadows can really be problematic and take away from a build. Don't be discouraged. Practice and luck are what I've been relying on, but I've discovered some new tricks using photoshop that have helped lessen the pain. Here is a link
that may be useful to you. My wife and I are looking on a cheaper way to make a light box and I'll have to post any success we have with that.
Thanks, QB! The overhanging of the tower was intended to be really cartoony, like the style of, say, the Sly Cooper games, but I do admit it looks odd here. I intend to make a sequel to this MOC that's way more into a cartoony fantasy style, as well as an ultra-realistic version. And I would have used yellow figs, but I wanted to use those torsos and didn't want to replace the hands and wear out the armholes.
Thanks for the link! That looks really awesome. I never would have thought of something crazy like the PVC framework and all. Make sure to post any neat lightbox you and your wife come up with!
