So ... odd as it may seem to many of you, I'm "learning" how to build spaceships, cars, and such, after all I have two grandson's I'll need to teach cool lego ideas too :o)

All that aside, I introduce my first spacecraft ... the SSF: Space Scramble Fighter



Designed for close combat over land or in space this one manned spacecraft is made for swift movement with cutting edge aerodynamics and high powered element-Z proton lasers.

Very cool, I see you went with the pod design. Pod designs are very nice in that they can be challenging or easy, and are very versatile. You can even attach them to other space-ships or even use them as detachable mech cockpits that can come off and fly.

One thing you did really well was the weapons systems. You'll see lots of pods where it looks like the pilot was going out to kill the whole Roman pantheon and everyone they see on the way. You went with a simple set of dual las-cannons, very appropriate.

A lot of people like to do this thing called greebling on space-ships, where they put on a bunch of little parts for detail. Your sleek design is a nice change and it has a better chance of working in real life. The general shape reminds me of a rebel alliance A-wing.

Off topic, I see you have the whole illustrated LotR set. Personally, I only have the last one illustrated, and that's cause' I dropped my original copy in the sink and the illustrated Return of the King was marked down.
