Why don't you sell minifigs because it might be a hassle to get the right color for the accessorize like i HAD trouble trying to find the right colors for the Powered Assault Commando armor and I'm just putting that out there because maybe I'm not the only one with that problem.

Hi Fritzburg,

This is probably more of a quality issue with our color matching than it is about providing minifig parts. I wish we had the official color recipe because it would sure make our jobs a lot easier. Unfortunately, the best we can do is color matching by trial and error. The type of plastic and the color dye plays a huge role in how any piece of plastic will turn out. TLC mixes an insurmountable of ABS plastic then applies the right dye to produce millions of the same pieces at any given time. Because we are so small we can only mix a few gallons meaning our color matching capabilities are somewhat limited. The good news is we are always trying to correct the variances and constantly trying to come closer to matching the official colors we are familiar with.

Now, does that mean that you can't make some of the official colors, as of yet?

We feel the following BF colors are a 99% match to the official recipe:
Black
Blue
Bronze (flat dark gold)
Brown
Lt Gray
Dk. Tan
Dk. Gray
Tan
Red
Silver (flat silver)
White

Any variation in the above are usually due to intense lighting conditions.
Colors like Dark Orange and Sand Green are currently being worked towards perfection.
Colors where we have not yet treaded are being considered and are just a matter of time and money to fully pursue.

Arealight might be able to help you. He's got the recipe for the sandgreen dye.

Oh. So they're almost perfect.

But he is resin casting, that is much different. He has to make it a darker tone than it actually is so it will be perfect when it is added to the white resin. I don't have much experience in ABS injection molding, but I'm pretty sure getting arealight's help wouldn't really help them. They probably use a whole different dye process.

Arealight light uses oil pigment dyes to create the colors of his casts. I suggest you check out his Flickr gallery to find out more about his processes:

Umm I know. I was just stating that his technique wouldn't help Brickforge much, because he is resin casting..

Wait, so Arealight uses resin, and Brickforge uses ABS plastic?
Could Brickforge try the recipe once and see how it goes?
