Just out of curiosity, in Series 2 of the Lego collectible minifigs there is a Spartan wearing and extremely similar helmet to the Greek Hoplite Helmet offered by BF. Because this is a very extensive community, I am wondering if anyone has had the chance to compare the Spartan and Hoplite helmets? -{:[

I have only compared the photos, but the main difference is the shape of the opening around the eyes. BF version is more angular, while LEGO one has rounder openings. There is also a slight difference in the detail above the eyes. Other than that, they look very similar. In fact, the original prototype shots used BF items, not LEGO prototypes, so you can bet they are very close to each other. The main difference is that LEGO will only be making these in one color, whereas you can get as many as you want in a wide variety of colors here. ;)

Also it appears that the crest is not removable

And, they'll be around in large quantities for I'd imagine a long time ... which is very awesome too!
