How do you get into the officer and special ranks?

Well the officers and the special ranks are determined by Armothe. You just can't get into those.

Well, I would imagine many years of hard work in being polite, having good manners, sticking to the rules, and being worthy in the eyes of Armothe.
Being worthy in the eyes of Armothe is the deciding factor, as he's the one who chooses. So, there wouldn't be much point in trying to get the rank, because you cannot get it by yourself. There's my smidgen of knowledge for the day!
