If you registered for BrickMagic you got wind that you’d be receiving a special ‘surprise’ BrickForge pack in your goodie bag. We are excited to announce the first of many ’2012 Doomsday’ packs that will be given away at the various LEGO fan shows across the country this year. BrickMagic received 175 limited edition ‘BUGOUT’ kits and an authorized BrickForge vendor will be selling extras at the show so attendees can get their hands on some as well.

The BUGOUT kit features BF accessories in non-standard colors making them a bit more collectible: Survival Pack, Compass, Flashlight, Walkie Talkie, Survival Knife, Glowstick & MRE

We will be announcing the second Doomsday Pack – made for specifically for BrickWorld – in a few days. Likewise, those attending BrickFair & BrickCon can expect other Doomsday packs to be given away as well.

BrickForge Got Ninja’d

Yup….we love this theme so much we felt that some more accurate items were needed to give our favorite spinners a few extra options. Presenting the Ninjato, Kunai, Throwing Star & Fighting Claw. The Ninjato is a shorter-blade stealth weapon primarily used for stabbing. The Kunai dagger is more of a utility device and can be used as a throwing weapon. Throwing Stars are easily concealed and ideal for disorienting the enemy. The Fighting Claw takes on many forms but deadly none-the-less; great for sarcastic, savage mutants as well! There must be some serious customizers out there! Over a year ago yet again increased our color palette and matched the official Pearl Dark Gray color – naming it Steel. It’s been a HUGE hit with our customers and works well alongside Black and Trusilver. But for some hardcore fans they craved an even deeper, metallic flake color; darker than Steel but still lighter than Black. So we put the Angry Dwarfsmith to work with the other minions searching for the ideal alloy to mix a few things. The result? CARBON!

Currently we only have 4 items in Carbon available, with many more to come. However, we can’t guarantee that this color will remain a staple of our selection due to limited inventory space. Get’em know while you can!

Restock, New Printed Items

We got a few things in yesterday and decided we simply couldn’t wait to list them.
Many of you will be happy to see the Black Berets back in stock – this time with a Gold badge print on the front. Dark Red joins the fray, also featuring the same printed design.
Police and SWAT Tactical gear are replenished as well.

We’ve had the Officer Hats for awhile, but these two items in particular are great examples of the overall design potential. This year we will be experimenting with many other military designs for the Officer hat.

Black Shock Troopers are full as well. We took your feedback and swapped the visor color on the Black helmets. We hope you enjoy!

Last but not least – our Savage Mask with white printed eyes (spooky!) as well as a new rainbow Scooter, just in time for Spring.

Changes to Contest System/Flickr Drawing

Many of you were introduced to BrickForge through the myriad of MOC-building and minifig-creating contests circling the web over the past few years. In addition to our own forum-based competitions we’ve sponsored over 100 independent contests and given away thousands of items. We currently do not sponsor independent Flickr contests.

In 2011 we encouraged BrickForge fans who used Flickr to simply tag their photos and add them to the BrickForge Group Pool to be automatically entered into our weekly Flickr drawing for a chance to win a $15.00 gift certificate to our website. Our Smithies also organized a few forum-hosted competitions to provide customizers additional chances of winning BrickForge SWAG.

This year we are doing things a bit different. For starters, our weekly Flickr prize drawing will be limited to a $5.00 gift certificate. This will allow us to concentrate more prize money to our forum-based contests. Instead of a mish-mash of challenges we are scheduling two separate contests for the Spring and Fall seasons. This gives our Smithys and other officers plenty of time to prepare and get the word out to more people. It will also allow us to work around other popular website contests we currently sponsor.
